Artist Bio Melisa
Kary hails from the San Francisco Bay
Area and has been a professional vocalist since the age
of 17. Her powerful and soulful voice has kept her busy
in many Bay Area and Southern California recording
studios. She has worked extensively as a lead and
background vocalist for Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle,
Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bolton, Celine
Dion, Brenda Russell, Peabo Bryson, James Brown, Clarence
Clemmens, Todd Rundgren & Strokeland's "Kick It
Up A Step" - a project by Doc Kupka and players of
"Tower of Power", in which she sings the duet
"Just As Long As We Have Each Other", with
Mickey Thomas. In
2000, Melisa released her long overdo debut CD To
My Sister, featuring "Love A Lifetime",
"So Afraid", "Tell Me" and more.
Stepping out as a solo artist lead to even more
opportunities, including performing with Huey Lewis &
The News in 2003 and establishing herself as both writer
and producer. |
